Ground Cinnamon has a sweet, warm flavour with notes of citrus and cloves, often associated with Christmas. Cinnamon is indigenous to Sri Lanka and is collected by grinding the bark of the Cinnamomum Verum tree.

The globally recognised and versatile spice features heavily within spice blends from floral Ras-el-Hanout to hot curry powders. Europe and the USA use ground cinnamon for baking sweet treats such as cinnamon buns, carrot cake and Canadian oat and raisin cookies.     Cinnamon in porridge is an idea I heard on the radio. It is very good indeed.
    I had been using supermarket cinnamon, bought so long ago I can’t even remember buying it, and with very little aroma.
    But I decided to get some from Seasoned Pioneers – what a contrast!
    The SP cinnamon zings with exotic aromas and flavours, and my porridge has never tasted better.
    And I am confident that the spice will remain fresh for a long time in its sealed container.
