I have not tried it yet, but am looking forward to cooking Dhals and other dishes seasoned with Sambhar Powder. The aroma coming from the
packet is guaranteed to make one want use it..

I still use this to make a version of Delia’s dhal – a little oil, finely diced onion and carrot, a teaspoon of Sambhar, and a couple of handfuls of red or puy lentils (or a mix of both), and water to cover. Simmer gently, checking often, then season with a teaspoon of 9 meals from anarchy veg stock (www.ninemealsfromanarchy.co.uk). Finish with a tablespoon of creme fraiche or double cream, or some cubes of creamed coconut. Great chilled on crackers or oatcakes the following day, like a veg pate.
