Herbes de Provence is a herbal mix of floral, sweet Provençal herbs originating from the South of France. The mix includes thyme, fennel, savory, marjoram, rosemary and lavender. The blend is used abundantly in local Mediterranean cuisine and is featured in Nigella Lawsons 2004 Feast Cookbook as ‘Lavender Herb Mix’.
This French herb blend is a great way to get the sunny flavours of France in your kitchen! Herbes de Provence is great for vegetable dishes like ratatouille that use aubergine and courgette.
Try using with grilled meats like pork, beef and chicken. The mix works perfectly in Game stews that use rabbit, partridge and pigeon. You could even try our non-traditional Spanish Omelette recipe! Also, featured in Nigella Lawsons St. Tropez chicken recipe from her cookbook “Feast“

I have never used this before and with a little trepidation I used in to top fresh salmon en-croute. Absolutely amazing result, who’s for salmon en croute?

Excellent service, needed next day and phoned after lunch to order and they very kindly made sure I got them on time! Love these herbs.

I’m delighted to have found this. I have been using Hello Fresh boxes and was worried about replicating the taste when the ingredients called for a particular spice or herb mix so I can now make the recipes with confidence. The spices are good value and the customer service was excellent; thank you!

Like to have a variety of herbs in my store cupboard

A lovely herb mixture and although I bought it for the Nigella recipe, (which is delicious), I also use it in other recipes.

I’m sorry but none of the family like this mix. We’re historic fans of Herbes De Provence but the addition of Lavender gets a big thumbs down. Even though it’s the last ingredient in the mix (suggesting the least percentage), the aroma & taste of this herb overwhelms the palate in a negative way, in our opinion.

We’re really disappointed to hear that you don’t enjoy our Herbes de Provence mix as it is normally one of our most popular blends. The mix escalated in popularity after Nigella Lawson used it in her St Tropez Chicken recipe from the book ‘Feast’. We do understand that Lavender is a powerful herb, so if it is not to your taste, you may find our Mixed Herbs more palatable, which are a blend of thyme, marjoram, oregano, sage, basil and parsley. We do hope you will continue to enjoy our other products and thank you for your feedback.
