Dried mixed herbs are a true worldwide blend. The blend is a mix of herbs: thyme, marjoram, oregano, sage, basil and parsley. The herbs are used to add instant depth to stews, soups, pasta dishes and tomato-based sauces. They can also be used to add flavour to minced meats and stuffing. Originally, mixed herb seasonings were used as a great substitute for fresh herbs which weren’t always readily available during winter months.
Mixed Herbs can be used for homemade burger patties and meatballs to add a delicious savoury undertone. Scatter into shepherds and cottage pie, bolognese and ragu or try our recipe for the African Classic Bobotie. Try combining with butter and using as a rub for Chicken or Turkey.
The herbs used in this blend are picked because of their complementary flavours. Thyme provides a savoury, earthy flavour, while marjoram adds a sweet, floral note, and oregano contributes a slightly bitter, pungent flavour. Meanwhile, sage and basil add a peppery, slightly minty flavour, while parsley brings a fresh and tangy flavour to the mix

This mix of herbs is very useful indeed. I add it to my meatball sauce. I also take a sachet on self catering holidays. My son uses the herb mix at his university residence too.
Seasoned Pioneers mixed herbs are excellent. I add a couple of teaspoons to a small tin of tomatoes for a very quick pasta sauce.

It is hard to find herbs and spices that are gluten-free - most say "packed in an environment where gluten is present" which does not cut the mustard; so I am glad this company is aware that there is a huge number of people who need to avoid gluten completely. The product presents in a lovely strong pouch that stands up on its base and is truly and easily re-sealable. The herbs are fresh and aromatic. Having read of the health benefits of culinary herbs I am sprinkling them liberally in lots of dishes. Excellent value and quality. This is where I will get all my herbs and spices from now on.
