Annatto Seeds, Whole
Typically used within Mexican and Caribbean cuisine, Annatto Seeds have a subtle peppery flavour. The seeds certainly pack a punch in the colour department! Often referred to as a poor person’s saffron, Annatto Seeds will leave a stain on anything they touch, even your skin!
Commercial food production use the seeds as a natural food colouring. Famous for giving Red Leicester cheese its famous orange hue. These versatile seeds are perfect when ground and paired with prawns, salt cod, okra and pulses.
