Shrimp Paste (Thai Kapee)
Shrimp paste, or Thai Kapee, is fermented and ground shrimp. This is a very important ingredient in Asian Cooking. The taste is highly salty, with an incredibly pungent scent. Like anchovies, the fishy flavour is not noticeable when cooked. The paste adds a rich, salty and Unami complexity to finished dishes.

Our Shrimp Paste was named a Delia Smith Cheat Ingredient in her cookbook ‘Delia’s How to Cheat at Cooking’. The product was used in her Thai Green Prawn Curry (page 134) if you would like to recreate!
