When you’re planning meals, sometimes it can be difficult to think of recipes which tick all three categories: easy, healthy and taste good. If you need some inspiration, why not try a curry? As well as being full of immune-boosting spices, they’re also an easy way to get more vegetables in your diet. Although curries may seem quite complex, you may be surprised at just how easy some of them are to make. Below, we’ve put together 10 easy curry recipes for you to make.

1.  Zanzibar chicken curry

Using our Zanzibar Curry Powder, this recipe for Zanzibar chicken curry will warm you up during those colder months. With dry-roasted spices like fenugreek, fennel, cinnamon and coriander, this curry is full of sultry and spicy flavours with hints of sweetness. Not keen on chicken? This curry also complements fish, beef, prawns or meat-free alternatives. We love it with spinach and courgette, but you can chuck in as many vegetables as you like.

2.  Spinach and sweet potato curry

Looking for a healthy curry recipe? This is a sultry and spicy spinach and sweet potato curry which serves up two of your 5 a day. It’s also completely vegan! This curry uses our delicious Madras Curry Powder, a mix of sweet, fruity and peppery spices, with an overlay of punchy chilli. It’s the perfect curry for your night in—why not pair with some poppadum’s?

3.  Sri Lankan beef and tamarind curry

In this zingy and spicy beef and tamarind curry recipe, fresh onion, garlic and ginger come together with spices like turmeric, crushed red chillies, curry leaves and cinnamon bark. The seven spices in our Sri Lankan Curry Powder gives the dish a mix of sweet, tart and fruity flavours, and features in a whole range of Sri Lankan dishes. The best part about this recipe? It only takes 30 minutes to make.

4.  Fish curry

Want to switch things up this Fish Friday? Put down the fish and chips and whip up this sultry fish curry using our Fish Curry Spice Blend composed of spices like nutty poppy seeds, citrusy coriander and fiery red chillies. Any type of sustainable firm, white fish works—we particularly like pollock, tilapia or salmon. 5.  Sri Lankan prawn curry

This 15 minute recipe for Sri Lankan prawn curry may be the easiest curry you’ve ever made. All you’ll need is some olive oil, prawns and a pack of our Sri Lankan Curry Gourmet Cooking Sauce. One of our best sellers, this rich, creamy sauce is intensely flavoured with spices like zingy tamarind and tart fenugreek. It’s also a versatile base for vegan and vegetarian dishes and goes with pretty much anything you have in the fridge!

6.  Madras curry

Sometimes, all we want is a quick meal without resorting to unhealthy microwave meals. If you’re searching for a quick but healthy midweek dinner, this Madras curry recipe only takes 20 minutes to cook up and really brings the flavour. Our Madras Curry Powder is quite spicy, with mustard seeds, ginger root and cumin seeds amongst some of the ingredients. Serve with fluffy rice, warm naan or even a spoonful of chutney.

7.  Caribbean goat curry

Looking to impress your dinner guests? This goat curry recipe is a crowd-pleaser, featuring vibrant flavours of the Caribbean from our West Indian Curry Powder. Together with allspice berries, garlic, onion and thyme, marinate your goat meat with this sweet, citrusy spice mix for a bold, complex flavour. Add a chopped scotch bonnet pepper if you like it spicy.

8.  Malaysian chicken curry with coconut and chilli relish

A melting pot of Chinese, Malay, Portuguese and Indian influences, this Malaysian chicken curry is a delicious recipe from internationally acclaimed cook and food writer Ghillie Basan. There are plenty of fresh and ground herbs and spices that go into this curry, including turmeric, five-spice powder, cinnamon sticks, fresh ginger and fresh coriander. While each ingredient offers a powerful punch, roasted coconut gives the curry that special something.

9.  Potato curry with yoghurt

Another recipe from Ghillie Basan, this potato curry with yoghurt has it all—it’s healthy, filling and simply mouthwatering. As well as fresh vegetables, herbs and spices, you’ll also need our Indian Garam Masala. This mix of hot, peppery flavours is an all-purpose seasoning, and is an essential spice mix for those who love Indian cuisine. This curry is usually served with a meat curry and rice, but we think it’s delicious on its own or accompanied with a spicy pickle or chutney.

10. Javanese lamb curry

This lamb curry recipe by Ghillie Basan hails from the island of Java in Indonesia. Like many Indonesian dishes, this curry uses plenty of bold spices like galangal, turmeric, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and lemongrass. Shrimp paste adds a deep, umami flavour and palm sugar gives it a caramel-like sweetness with smoky overtones. This particular curry is one for the weekend, when you can leave it to slow-cook and really soak up the vibrant flavours.
