New Mexico Red Chillies Ground

Ground New Mexico chillies have a mellow heat that builds pleasantly. Before grinding, the whole chilli is a shocking scarlet colour and measures 5-7 inches in length and 2 inches in width. The chillies have a sweet, tart and smoky flavour with light, pungent notes of onion, cherry and garlic.

The chillies are a fundamental ingredient in New Mexico cuisine and are one of the most popular chillies in Southwest USA. They are typically used to make traditional New Mexico Red chilli sauce.

The best way to enjoy this powder is to mix with a little cumin, Mexican oregano and paprika to make a great chilli powder mix. Use to season Chilli con Carne, enchiladas, tostadas and fajitas!
