Piri Piri chillies add a warmth to the tomato sauce, while smoked pimenton dulce brings an undeniably smoky richness. The key ingredient saffron releases its elegant nectar to impart sweet, sensual flavours.
The Moors ruled parts of Southern Spain for nearly 800 years, from the early 8th to late 15th century. During this time, they influenced Spanish culture significantly, including the cuisine! Spices such as saffron were introduced during this period – a prized and essential ingredient that remains so to this day.
Meanwhile, pimenton was introduced by none other than Christopher Columbus upon his return from the Americas. He brought with him chilli peppers which began to be cultivated in Spain and eventually became the ground spice we know and love today.
Our Spanish Pimenton Bravas Sauce celebrates the cultural heritage of Spanish cuisine and allows you to create tapas–style dishes or a delectable Mediterranean meal in 30 minutes! Serves 3-4 with a shelf life up to 18 months.

We loved this sauce with chicken. chorizo, peppers and spring onions. There are two of us and we found there was too much in a pack for one meal but not quite enough for two meals. In future I will use two packs to make six servings, which I'll then freeze and we'll have three delicious ready meals for two people. Amazing value.
