Cumin Seeds Black, Whole
Cumin Seeds Black, also known as kala jeera, have a distinctive, warm flavour. Native to Europe, Africa and Asia, black cumin has a slightly mellower, tarter flavour in comparison to white cumin.
Although not as common as white cumin, north India utilises black cumin in many of its regional dishes. Try in curries, rice dishes like biryani and in traditional Indian breads where you would usually use white cumin. The seeds are typically dry fried to really heighten their flavour.
