In this sauce, sweet flavours of fennel and apricots are laced with floral notes of lavender and rose petals. The famous ras-el-hanout spice blend is accompanied with fiery ginger and black pepper. The addition of sweet aniseed notes of fennel delivers an unbeatable balance of flavours.
This Moroccan Fennel & Apricot Tagine Gourmet Cooking Sauce is ready in 30 minutes and partners perfectly with our Orange and Date Salad and Fennel Butter Couscous. Serves 3 to 4 with a shelf life up to 18 months.
Traditional tagine recipes often feature ingredients like lamb or chicken, along with an array of vegetables, dried fruits, and aromatic spices, reflecting the agricultural and culinary practices of nomadic Berber communities who have heavily influenced and shaped Moroccan cuisine for centuries.
“Tagine” refers not only to the dish but the unique clay pot that’s typically used to cook it. The tagine pot has a conical lid that helps condense and circulate steam, allowing ingredients to cook evenly and retain flavour.

really good, I am vegetarian/pescatarian for the second time in my life. I can’t stand the thought of eating flesh although I miss some things but can’t bring myself to buy meat let alone cook and eat it. So I use Quorn and treat it like chicken. Take it out of the skin, defrost, marinate whatever I feel like, or just the quorn fillets. And that is what I did with this product.

Absolutely love this sauce! Add peppers, aubergine and as we’re vegan we throw in some Tempeh or Tofu that’s been marinated in Ras el Hanout and it’s utterly divine with caulli rice!!! Well done Seasoned Pioneers!!!

I gave this a try as I thought it looked interesting. Really great sauce. So good I ordered some more.
For my taste the only drawback was I like more liquid so it can soak into the rice but that I just personal preference. Next time I will just add a little water and some thickening.

Add a tin of chick peas, a tin of kidney beans, some chopped prunes and toasted blanched almonds to this sauce and in only a few minutes you’ll have the best baked potato topping you could ever imagine. Blissful.
