Ground turmeric has a musky, tart flavour with a light peppery, ginger aroma. Owing to its shocking golden colour, turmeric was used as a dye for centuries in the Asian continent before its transition to the culinary world.

In Hindu cultures, turmeric is rubbed onto the faces of brides and new-born babies for good luck. The powder also has beneficial health properties owing to the pigment curcumin. Research shows that curcumin fights numerous processes such as inflammation and ageing!

Nowadays turmeric is a staple for curries, dals and the popular golden milk. Try using in pilau rice to achieve its distinctive golden hue. Use in homemade Laska, Thai curries and paired with black salt and tofu for vegan scrambled eggs!

    This is the best turmeric I have found. I use a little bit in lots of different dishes for health reasons.

    Using this as an anti inflammatory so sprinkling a little on food. It is lovely and fresh and the little pouches seal well and help to keep it fresh for longer.
